Snohomish, WALocal News

The upcoming “Comedy with Heart” fundraiser will support the Maltby Food Bank in its mission to alleviate food insecurity in Snohomish County. Scheduled for August 29 at Echo Falls Golf Club, the event will feature comedians including Taylor Clark, with ticket prices ranging from $35 to $55. Organizer Deborah Tahara reported an increase in demand for food assistance due to rising grocery prices and cuts to benefits. Funds raised will help the food bank provide essential groceries, fresh produce, and dairy products to vulnerable families. The event is suitable for all ages, although humor is intended for those aged 16 and up.

In a related initiative, the Maltby Food Bank is set to install rooftop solar panels to reduce energy costs, allowing for more funds to be directed toward food distribution. This solar project is funded through Washington State University’s community solar expansion program. The event highlights the importance of community support in addressing local food insecurity challenges.
