Fire claims Vicks Burger Shack in Sultan

Snohomish, WALocal News

A fire destroyed Vick’s Burger Shack in Sultan shortly before midnight on August 8, leaving the Vick family and their seven employees without a source of income. Jenn Vick, who handles administrative work, confirmed the family’s determination to reopen as soon as possible. They launched an online fundraiser that raised over $14,000 within 24 hours to support their rebuilding efforts. Community members praised the Vicks for their longstanding commitment to local events and support for those in need. The family transformed a disused shack into the popular restaurant over a decade ago, demonstrating their dedication and hard work.

Local leaders, including Sultan Chamber of Commerce director Debbie Copple, emphasized the Vicks' tight-knit family bonds and community spirit. The property owner does not have insurance, complicating the family's recovery efforts. Mayor Russell Wiita expressed hope that the community will return the favor and support the Vicks during this difficult time.
