Snohomish Bartell Drug closure date official

Snohomish, WALocal News

The Snohomish Bartell Drugs store at 13th and Avenue D will close on August 20 following Rite Aid's bankruptcy in May. CVS will transfer prescriptions to its new location at Second Street and Pine Avenue, which was formerly a Rite Aid. The prescription change occurred on July 30, with CVS signage replacing Rite Aid's in early August. CVS's acquisition includes approximately 64 Rite Aid stores across Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. This closure impacts Bartell Drugs due to Rite Aid's purchase of the chain in 2020.

CVS plans to rebrand the stores, eliminating both the Rite Aid and Bartell Drugs names. As Rite Aid's financial troubles unfolded, CVS positioned itself to expand its footprint in the region. The transition reflects a significant shift in the local pharmacy landscape, affecting both customers and employees.
