Prolific Everett burglar said to have had break-in spree caught

Snohomish, WALocal News

A 40-year-old Everett man is scheduled for arraignment on August 6, facing multiple charges for burglaries committed across four counties. Police allege he used forceful entry methods, causing over $10,000 in damages and stealing more than $3,000 from businesses like Starbucks and Subway. His arrest on July 23 followed a police investigation that utilized Flock license plate recognition cameras to trace a black Ford Escape SUV linked to the crimes. Authorities filed 27 charges against him, including 12 for second-degree burglary and 11 for malicious mischief, with additional charges expected. The suspect has a significant criminal record, including 17 previous felonies related to theft and burglary.

Despite this history, he was released on a $150,000 bond shortly after his arrest. The case underscores ongoing concerns about repeat offenders in the area, prompting collaboration among local law enforcement. As the investigation continues, more details about the financial impact on the affected businesses may emerge.
