Three Everett Community College students participated in the 2025 National Clash of Trades Championship in June at Southwestern Illinois College. The team, consisting of Kaedyn Blevins, Edward Smith, and River Stormo, aimed to win a $100,000 prize in advanced manufacturing. Under the coaching of Darin Chase, they faced technical challenges in machining and 3D printing. The journey began with a remote qualifying round in October 2024, culminating in a regional competition where EvCC secured its national spot. This year's competition placed greater emphasis on additive manufacturing, requiring teams to 3D print functional gear sets with precise specifications.

The students delivered professional-grade products under tight time constraints. Chase noted the team's dedication and improved preparation compared to last year. Their performance highlights the growing importance of skill development in advanced manufacturing.
