The Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) awarded Snohomish County's Little Bear Creek Advance Mitigation Site (LBCAMS) the Vision 2050 award, recognizing its commitment to sustainability and regional improvement. The award ceremony will occur on July 28, 2025, at the county campus in Everett. LBCAMS, covering 17 acres, has successfully restored wetlands and stream habitats since its launch in 2019, including planting over 21,000 native trees and shrubs. This proactive approach allows the county to generate wetland credits for future projects and ensures the site will be preserved as a conservation area. County Executive Dave Somers emphasized the project's role in supporting the county's growth, which now serves over 850,000 residents.

Public Works Director Kelly Snyder noted LBCAMS as an example of effective leadership and innovation in environmental conservation. The site will undergo monitoring for the next decade to ensure its ecological goals are met. This award is the fourth honor for LBCAMS, underscoring its significant impact on local environmental initiatives.
