Snohomish County has been awarded a $2 million federal BUILD grant to upgrade infrastructure for solid waste shipping. The funding will help resolve ongoing health and safety issues caused by recent disruptions in service lasting over a month. Snohomish County Public Works manages 1,600 miles of roads and processes approximately 670,000 tons of garbage each year, highlighting the department's significant role in local infrastructure.
