Snohomish Garbage drop-off day set for Sunday, July 20

Snohomish, WALocal News

Snohomish will host a garbage drop-off event on Sunday, July 20, from 8 a. m. to 4 p. m. at the Public Works Yard due to ongoing service disruptions caused by Republic Services' work stoppage.

City staff will coordinate traffic but will not assist with unloading waste. Residents must provide proof of residency, and only bagged household trash will be accepted at the event. Mayor Linda Redmon expressed concern over the health and sanitation issues arising from the service delays, stating the city acted swiftly to provide a disposal option. Monroe will also hold a similar drop-off event on July 19 at the future city hall. The city continues to monitor the strike and its impacts on residents.

This service disruption highlights the essential role of waste management in community health. Authorities aim for a resolution to restore regular garbage collection as soon as possible.
