Free summer meals offered for kids across Snohomish County

Snohomish, WALocal News

Free summer meal programs are back in Snohomish County, serving children 18 and under without the need for registration or identification. The Snohomish School District’s Kid’s Café operates Monday through Friday until August 29, providing meals at various locations, including Snohomish High School and local mobile home parks. Everett Public Schools has offered summer meals for over 35 years, with services available at 20 sites until August 14, focusing on removing barriers to access. Monroe School District also contributes by providing free lunches at Frank Wagner Elementary through August 22. Each program requires children to eat on-site and prohibits sharing food with adults.

Kristin Foley from Snohomish Schools states, “Kid’s Café has grown into a cornerstone of our community support system. ” Families should frequently check district websites for updates and share information with others to maximize participation. These meal programs aim to combat food insecurity and promote the health and well-being of students during the summer months.
