New org. helps fundraise to get people into recovery, off streets

Snohomish, WALocal News

Advocacy Change Thrive (ACT), led by Melissa MacDonald, focuses on helping individuals secure housing and recovery services. Since launching last year, ACT has provided assistance to approximately a dozen people in Snohomish County, including helping a homeless man find employment and another individual relocate to Hawai’i. To enhance support for clients, MacDonald is forming a nonprofit called Rise With Resilience, which will fundraise for those in need, covering costs like housing deposits and medical tests. The IRS is currently processing the nonprofit's 501(c)(3) application. MacDonald aims to expand the program's reach statewide as it develops.

The launch event for Rise With Resilience will occur on July 9 from 5 to 7 p. m. at Haywire Brewing. Community members interested in supporting the organization can contact MacDonald via phone or email. ACT continues to provide essential services to those seeking stability.
