Snohomish, WALocal News

Jacob Badgley, a 14-year-old motocross racer from Snohomish, remains paralyzed from the chest down following a dirt bike accident during a Washougal race on May 31. After undergoing extensive spinal surgery at Legacy Hospital, his family is considering stem cell treatments and experimental trials to aid his recovery. They have set up a GoFundMe campaign, which has garnered significant community support. Shaun Donnelly, a close family friend, emphasized Jacob's passion for motocross, stating, "Moto is his whole life. " Community members rallied together to host a silent auction that raised over $40,000 for Jacob’s medical expenses.

Hundreds attended the event, including many outside the motocross community, showcasing the widespread support for the Badgley family. The auction featured numerous donated items, with some attendees writing four-figure checks. The Donnellys plan to organize more fundraising events, with updates available on the SNOCO MOTO Facebook page.
