First annual Panther Run raises more than 5,000

The first annual Panther 24 Hour Relay at Snohomish High School raised over $5,000 for scholarships honoring former teachers Dave Lewarne and Tuck Gionet, as well as the Travis Manion Foundation. Captain Will Lennon of Snohomish J-ROTC reported participation from 14 teams, including five adult and nine youth groups, each employing various strategies to complete the event. The SHS XC Old Timers claimed victory, completing 783 laps—almost 196 miles—while the youth team Danny Lovelace’s Victims finished with 768 laps. Collectively, the teams completed an impressive total of 8,176 laps, amounting to 2,044 miles. This event not only highlights the competitive spirit among participants but also emphasizes the community's commitment to supporting local education through fundraising efforts.
