Magpie Thrift store opens in Shoreline

Shoreline, WALocal News

Magpie Thrift opened its new Shoreline store at 15403 Westminster Way North, taking over the former Salvation Army location. This store provides a variety of clothing, furniture, and household items, with a commitment to sustainable practices. A portion of every purchase supports local nonprofits, particularly those that educate about recycling, support LGBTQIA+ initiatives, and help seniors downsize with dignity. The store also collaborates with the Shoreline Tool Library, directing all bike sale proceeds to the Bike Shack for repairs and reselling of bicycles. Currently, the Shoreline location is accepting applications for positions such as cashiers and donation attendants, contributing to local employment opportunities.

The opening of this store enhances thrifting options in the region, joining the original Magpie Thrift on Capitol Hill. According to the store's website, their mission extends beyond retail, aiming to positively impact the community. This initiative aligns with a growing trend towards sustainable shopping and community support in the area.
