First look Whole Foods Madison Broadway

Seattle, WALocal News

Whole Foods has opened a new store at Broadway and Madison, with a grand opening scheduled for 9 AM Tuesday. The two-level, 40,000-square-foot supermarket features an extensive floral department tailored to the needs of nearby hospitals and medical facilities. Angela Lorenzen, the regional president, noted the store's location capitalizes on growing residential demand in the area. This opening is part of a broader trend, with several grocery chains investing in Central Seattle, including a New Seasons Market and H Mart. The store will provide a diverse range of products, including an expansive vegan section and a dedicated beer and wine area.

Notably, it will also feature Amazon Prime specials, although it lacks the automation seen in other Amazon stores. The grand opening festivities will include giveaways and a DJ, fostering community engagement. This new grocery option may challenge existing local stores, reflecting the changing retail landscape in the region.
