Seattle, WALocal News

A protest against ICE unfolded at the Henry M. Jackson Federal Building in Seattle on June 11, 2025, culminating in the burning of American flags. The event began at 8 a. m. when protesters barricaded the entrances using rental scooters and bikes, drawing the attention of local police.

Tensions escalated later in the evening as officers confronted demonstrators near 2nd Avenue and Marion Street, resulting in the use of pepper balls. Despite the conflict, police retreated after a brief engagement, allowing the protest to continue. By 9:45 p. m. , participants removed the American flag from the building and set it ablaze, with a second flag meeting the same fate shortly after.

The protest site has a history of anti-ICE demonstrations, highlighting ongoing tensions surrounding immigration enforcement. As the night progressed, the crowd dwindled to around a dozen participants, with two individuals arrested. This incident reflects the growing discontent with immigration policies and the actions of federal agencies in the region.
