Police investigate after woman assaulted, thousands stolen in home invasion targeting Capitol Hill mansion UPDATE

Seattle, WALocal News

Two men pepper sprayed a woman during a home invasion at a Capitol Hill mansion early Saturday morning, making off with thousands of dollars in stolen items. The suspects, described as black males, confronted the victim shortly after midnight, who works as a nanny for the homeowner’s children. After managing to escape and call the police, officers arrived to secure the property and found evidence, including a hat and bear spray, left behind by the suspects. Authorities are also investigating a related break-in attempt at a nearby home, where a possible female accomplice was reported. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about safety in the area, particularly as it relates to a recent string of home invasions targeting sports celebrities.

Seattle rapper Macklemore is linked to the property but was not present during the robbery. The Seattle Police Department has not released further descriptions of the suspects as the investigation continues. Community members are urged to remain vigilant as police work to track down the suspects.
