Seattle Pride in the Park kicks off month-long celebration with music and more

Seattle Pride in the Park will open Pride Month on June 7 with a celebration at Volunteer Park from noon to 7 p. m. The event, themed "Louder," is free and will feature live performances, including headliner TeZATalks, who emphasized Pride’s significance as a "sacred act of resistance and remembrance. " The event will also showcase a variety of queer and trans artists, alongside activities for families such as Drag Queen Storytime and a fairy-wing decorating station. Attendees over 21 can visit an alcohol garden featuring local breweries and spirits, while a sober area will be available.

Accessibility accommodations such as ASL interpreters and low-sensory zones will ensure inclusivity for all attendees. GenPride will host a dedicated space for LGBTQIA2S+ seniors. Hearn described the celebration as a vibrant expression of joy and diversity within the LGBTQIA2S+ community. Seattle Pride in the Park represents a significant moment for local LGBTQIA2S+ visibility and community engagement during Pride Month.
