911 Gunpoint mugging on 18th Ave

Seattle, WALocal News

Two people were assaulted and robbed at gunpoint near 18th and Denny late Thursday night, with police reporting one victim sustained a facial laceration. The victims were returning home when two men attacked them, one brandishing a handgun. Separately, police arrested a woman on Monday for stabbing a family member during a domestic violence incident, resulting in minor injuries to the victim. Officers also investigated gunfire reported early Monday morning near E Highland Drive but found no injuries or property damage. Additionally, an arrest occurred during counter-protests against an anti-trans rally in Cal Anderson Park, where a man threatened to blow up police headquarters.

This incident highlights ongoing tensions surrounding protests in the area. The Seattle City Council approved the deployment of digital wayfinding kiosks, initially focusing on downtown, with concerns raised about city street clutter. The Pike/Pine area will remain excluded from this initiative until a Business Improvement District is established.
