The Capitol Hill Farmers Markets summer season of Tuesday markets begins with a bonus for food workers
The Capitol Hill Farmers Market officially opens its Tuesday night season on June 3, 2025, featuring a special promotion for local food workers. Eligible workers, including baristas and cooks, can obtain $4 in Farm Bucks at the manager’s tent, which they can use at the market. The Tuesday markets will operate from 3 to 7 PM, focusing on providing quick and convenient meal options for the community. This expansion complements the year-round Sunday markets, which are held from 11 AM to 3 PM. The initiative supports local food workers, who have faced challenges due to the pandemic, by offering them a way to access fresh produce and local goods.
In addition to the Farm Bucks, the market will roll out engaging activities like the “Eat the Rainbow Challenge” and Market Bingo cards, encouraging community participation. The Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance launched the Tuesday night market in 2023, emphasizing its goal to serve as a one-stop shop for weeknight meals. This seasonal market runs through September 30, enhancing food accessibility and community engagement in Capitol Hill.
