Capitol Hill Uncle Ikes hit in another Seattle smash and grab pot shop burglary

Seattle, WALocal News

On Friday morning, police responded to a smash-and-grab burglary at Uncle Ike's marijuana shop located on 15th Ave E in Seattle. The incident involved three to five suspects who loaded stolen merchandise into a vehicle after crashing a silver sedan into the storefront. Officers were able to track a fleeing blue Chevy Impala but opted not to engage in a high-speed chase. This burglary follows the recent reopening of The Reef, another local cannabis shop, which had previously suffered significant damage from similar incidents. Cannabis retailers are increasingly targeted due to their cash-only operations under federal restrictions and the high value of their products.

Local shop owners report that despite improved security measures, break-ins persist. There were no reported injuries from the incident, and no arrests were made at the scene. Uncle Ike's plans to remain closed until Monday, directing customers to its nearby E Olive Way location.
