All lanes reopen after semi crash with injuries closes I-5 in north Seattle

A semi-truck crash on Interstate 5 in north Seattle caused significant traffic disruption on Wednesday morning. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) reported the collision near Northgate Way at approximately 9:30 a. m. , which closed all northbound and three southbound lanes. WSDOT's footage showed the semi-truck blocking the northbound lanes horizontally.

At least one passenger vehicle was involved, and those injured managed to exit their vehicles independently. All victims received medical attention and were reported to be in stable condition upon arrival at the hospital. Traffic was diverted to Northgate Way, leading to major backups, with northbound traffic delayed by about 4 miles and southbound traffic by 7 miles. The incident highlights ongoing issues with traffic safety on major highways in the region. Authorities are expected to assess the crash site to prevent future occurrences.
