Hey, roomie The Spot is moving in with a Capitol Hill salon to create a new cafe and music hangout on the backside of PikePine
The Spot, a cafe and wine bar, will soon open at 1156 11th Ave in Capitol Hill, sharing space with Essensuals salon. Owner Philip Sueore aims to establish a European-style espresso and wine bar, moving away from the restaurant model that defined its former West Seattle location. The new venue will offer coffee and pastries in the morning and transition to a wine-centric menu in the evenings, featuring live music from local artists. Sueore expects to attract students from Seattle University and young professionals living in nearby apartments, with plans for daily operations from 7 AM to 8 PM and extended hours for special events. This collaboration with Essensuals is designed to create a unique community atmosphere and provide co-marketing opportunities.
The Spot's opening comes as neighboring businesses face challenges, highlighted by the closure of the upscale sneaker shop Likelihood. Sueore emphasizes the importance of providing a relaxed environment for patrons to enjoy food, music, and a welcoming atmosphere. The Spot’s rebirth represents a shift toward a more streamlined business model, focusing on quality and community engagement.
