DuPont hosted its 15th annual Wear Blue: Run to Remember event on Memorial Day, attracting approximately 2,000 participants who honored fallen military heroes. Lisa Hallett created the event in memory of her husband, Army Capt. John Hallett III, who died in 2009. The race features a mentorship program for Gold Star Youth, allowing children who have lost parents to connect with service members. A Chinook helicopter landing at the park marked the start of the event, which included the distribution of flags to children honoring their loved ones.

Major General Michelle Schmidt addressed the crowd, emphasizing the importance of remembering sacrifices made by service members. The event showcased 547 photos of fallen heroes, contributing to a profound atmosphere of remembrance. Participants included families, veterans, and community members, all coming together to support each other. As one mentor noted, the event provides an opportunity for healing and connection, reinforcing the commitment to honor those who have served.
