SDOT June Constellation Center construction will bring Broadway sidewalk and bike lane closure

Seattle, WALocal News

The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) confirmed a closure of the bike lane and sidewalk on Broadway between Pike St and Pine St from June 2 to June 15, 2025. This disruption is part of the construction for the Constellation Center job training facility and an adjacent affordable apartment building, which is expected to open in 2027. The contractor requires these closures to safely expand Seattle City Light’s underground infrastructure. Bicyclists and scooter riders must either walk their vehicles for one block or reroute through streets like 12th Ave E and Melrose Ave. SDOT expressed appreciation for the public’s patience during the construction period.

This project aims to enhance job training opportunities and affordable housing in Capitol Hill. Once the work is completed, the bike lane and sidewalk will reopen for public use. Such construction efforts reflect the city's ongoing commitment to improving infrastructure and community resources.
