Capitol Hills Regent Bakery and Cafe is now (finally) Raku Shabu Shabu

Seattle, WALocal News

Raku Shabu Shabu has opened its doors in the space previously occupied by Regent Bakery and Cafe at 1404 E Pine, marking a significant shift from Chinese cuisine to a hot pot dining format. Customers can enjoy an interactive dining experience with unlimited access to a veggie and sauce bar, catering to diverse dietary preferences, including vegan options. The Loh family, who have operated Regent since 2012, decided to pivot their business model after a lengthy renovation period that sparked speculation about the restaurant's future. Raku's offerings include unique broths like Wild Mushroom Kombu and Tomato, both gluten-free and vegan-friendly. The restaurant aims to create a welcoming atmosphere where patrons can connect and enjoy flavorful meals together.

The Loh family's commitment to the Capitol Hill neighborhood remains strong as they launch this new venture. With the closure of Regent, the local community was concerned about losing another dining option, but Raku's opening brings renewed energy to the area. The restaurant's focus on quality ingredients and customer experience reflects a growing trend in the local food scene.
