8 Ping Yang now open with new energy and experience straight off the grill on E Union

Seattle, WALocal News

8 Ping Yang has officially opened at 1412 E Union, offering a unique Asian fusion grill experience spearheaded by novice restaurateur Ben Evans and seasoned partner Suttabusya “Ice” Thiraphan. The restaurant's menu boasts a variety of grilled meats and seafood, alongside enticing sides like grilled pork jowl and hat-yai chicken. Lunchtime offerings include the Chiang Mai burger and a full selection of Thai congee, while the late-night menu features skewers and grilled steak specials. To enhance the dining experience, a selection of craft cocktails, beer, and wine is available. Evans, new to restaurant ownership, has enlisted Thiraphan as a mentor to guide him through this challenging transition.

This collaboration aims to leverage both fresh energy and industry experience to navigate the competitive Capitol Hill food scene. The restaurant's location previously housed OOLA and Marjorie, which adds to its historical significance. With the right support and a strong menu, 8 Ping Yang hopes to establish itself as a neighborhood favorite.
