The Seattle City Council’s transportation committee approved plans to vacate an alley for a new apartment development next to First Hill’s Town Hall. Quarterra Multifamily, the developer, will provide $5. 3 million in public benefits as part of the agreement, which includes a $4. 8 million public plaza and $350,000 for improvements to the historic Town Hall building. The legislation, supported by D3 representative Joy Hollingsworth, will move to the full council for final approval.

The project features two 32-story residential towers comprising 565 units, aimed at enhancing the urban landscape. The public plaza will serve as a vital link between the residential space and the community. This initiative highlights Seattle's ongoing commitment to urban development while improving public spaces.
