Sorry, Capitol Hill window shoppers Tiny Casita International is closing on 15th Ave E
Casita International will close its Capitol Hill shop at the end of April after 15 years of service to the community. Known for its handmade and fair trade products, the store is offering a half-off sale for its final days at 423 15th Ave E. The business transitioned to new ownership in 2022 when founders Paula Moreschi and Joe Myers retired, passing it to nephew Nick Myers. Currently, no new tenants are planned for the space, which has been part of a changing retail environment on 15th Ave E. Fire Tacos & Cantina is moving forward with plans to occupy the old Coastal Kitchen building, while a six-story mixed-use development is approved for the site of the shuttered QFC.
This development reflects broader changes in the neighborhood, including the ongoing Quality Flea Center operations until demolition. New retail ventures like Thistle & Poppy and Windthrow have emerged, contributing to a vibrant community. As the area continues to evolve, established retailers like Station 7 celebrate their long-standing presence.
