How Indian restaurant and bar Mint Martini expanded to Capitol Hill from St. Louis

Seattle, WALocal News

Mint & Martini will open in Capitol Hill by mid-May, taking over the space previously occupied by Barrio, which closed after 16 years. The restaurant will feature modern Indian and Indochinese cuisine, along with a bar designed for social interaction. Ownership plans to create a lively atmosphere, encouraging patrons to enjoy drinks and happy hours. Unlike their St. Louis location, which offers Indian-Italian fusion, the Capitol Hill menu will be tailored to the local taste.

The restaurant occupies a sizable 4,500-square-foot space in the Trace North apartment building, which had been listed for sale for nearly $400,000 before securing a more modest deal. This opening is part of a trend in Capitol Hill, where 27 new establishments have been welcomed this year, despite 18 closures. Mint & Martini aims to resonate with the community’s evolving culture as it joins other new businesses in the area. The ownership looks forward to creating a welcoming environment for all.
