Fundraiser Organizer of PrideFest Capitol Hill and Seattle Center celebrations says some sponsors are pulling out

Seattle, WALocal News

PrideFest organizers are working to address a $75,000 funding shortfall attributed to a substantial decline in sponsorship support, with $1,250 raised so far. Director Egan Orion stated that the organization has lost approximately one-third of its total sponsorship funding, which amounts to around $225,000. Donations will be directed toward covering security and performance costs for the 2025 events, which include the popular street festival and fountain party. Despite the financial challenges, key sponsors such as Delta and Smirnoff remain committed to supporting PrideFest. The theme "More Rainbow" reflects the organization's dedication to diversity and resilience against those who oppose the LGBTQ community.

PrideFest, incorporated as a nonprofit in 2014, has grown to report around $400,000 in annual donations. The current economic climate under the second Trump administration has raised questions about federal support for nonprofits, amplifying the urgency for local fundraising efforts. Community contributions are vital for sustaining the quality and safety of the Pride celebrations in Seattle.
