Man charged with murder, kidnapping after 82-year-old's body found under shed

Seattle, WALocal News

Jeffrey Zizz has been charged with the murder and kidnapping of 82-year-old Marcia Norman, who was reported missing on April 4 after her family lost contact with her. Her remains were discovered buried under a shed in Olympia, partially encased in concrete, following an investigation that linked Zizz to her disappearance. Zizz had dinner with Norman on the evening of April 1, the last known sighting of her, which led authorities to initially identify him as a person of interest. After fleeing to Montana and violating terms of a previous sentencing, he was apprehended and extradited back to Washington. The Thurston County Coroner's Office confirmed the identity of the remains on April 10, further solidifying the case against Zizz.

The Norman family expressed their heartbreak over the loss of their matriarch and thanked law enforcement for their diligent work. They described Marcia as a vibrant community member with future plans, noting the profound impact of her absence. The investigation continues as Zizz remains in custody on a no-bail hold for unrelated charges.
