911 First Hill 13th floor fire, crisis response off 15th Ave E

Seattle, WALocal News

A fire broke out Thursday afternoon on the 13th floor of Jefferson Terrace in First Hill, damaging a unit in the Seattle Housing Authority building and sending a woman to the hospital. The Seattle Fire Department escalated the response to a two-alarm level, efficiently containing the fire to the original unit. The woman, approximately 40 years old, was treated for her injuries and transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition. Concurrently, Seattle Police arrested a suspect for an assault that occurred near Broadway, where the individual resisted arrest, prompting officers to use Type 2 force. In a separate incident on E Pine, police apprehended a burglary suspect who also resisted arrest, requiring the use of a taser.

Investigators later reported gunfire near Judkins Park, but no victims or property damage were found at the scene. Additionally, a crisis response team addressed a situation involving a woman in distress on a fifth-floor balcony, leading to her eventual medical evaluation. These incidents highlight ongoing safety and law enforcement challenges in the Seattle area.
