In a tragic incident early Wednesday, David Chuyeshkov, a 40-year-old man, was shot and killed at First Hill’s Tuscany Apartments. The Seattle Police Department confirmed that Chuyeshkov died from a gunshot wound to the torso, as they continue to search for the suspect who fled the scene. Witnesses described the suspect as a black male wearing all black and riding a bicycle. The unit where the shooting occurred had been reported as a “drug squat,” raising concerns among residents who had previously alerted property management about drug activities. Chuyeshkov's criminal history is notable, with a total of 73 warrants since his first conviction for robbery in 2004, including multiple charges for firearm possession and drug-related offenses.

At the time of his death, he was wanted on several warrants, highlighting a pattern of evading law enforcement. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing the need for community assistance in solving this case. This incident underscores ongoing issues related to crime and safety in urban neighborhoods, prompting discussions about the effectiveness of local law enforcement and community outreach.
