Binders full of meth delivered to Algona business, sickening employee

An alarming incident unfolded in Algona, Washington, when two binders containing a white, crystal-like substance were delivered to a local business, leading to an evacuation. The Algona Police Service responded to the call around 11:17 a. m. on Thursday after an employee reported the suspicious items. After handling the substance, one employee reported feeling ill, which led to the swift involvement of a Hazardous Materials (HazMat) team from the Valley Regional Fire Authority.

The HazMat team confirmed that the substance was methamphetamine. The affected employee was promptly taken to a nearby hospital, where they received treatment and have since been released. This incident raises concerns about drug trafficking and safety in the community, highlighting the need for vigilance regarding suspicious deliveries. The Algona Police are actively investigating the origins of the meth, emphasizing public safety. Authorities encourage anyone with information to come forward, aiming to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
