Police search for blonde highlight bandit after woman reportedly holds up Madison Park bank

Seattle, WALocal News

Seattle police are currently investigating a bank robbery that occurred at Homestreet Bank in the affluent Madison Park area, where a female suspect reportedly stole $2,000 in cash. The incident took place last Tuesday afternoon when the suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money while claiming to be armed, although no weapon was displayed. Witnesses described her as an Asian woman in her early 20s, approximately 5'5" and 120 pounds, dressed in a black sweatshirt and dark sunglasses. After fleeing the scene with a beige tote bag, she may have discarded a wig while escaping into the neighborhood. The Seattle Police Department is following up on leads and attempting to secure surveillance footage from the bank.

This robbery is notable as only 6-7% of bank robbery suspects are female, highlighting the unusual nature of this case. Despite a thorough search of the area, police have yet to locate the suspect. The community is encouraged to provide any information that could assist in the investigation.
