The Doctors Office marks five years on Capitol Hill Its going to be one of the best bars in the world

Seattle, WALocal News

The Doctor’s Office, a 12-seat bar on Capitol Hill, is celebrating five years of operation, having opened just weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic began. Founded by Dr. Matthew Powell, the bar's story is marked by resilience, as Powell faced a life-altering injury that left him wheelchair-bound during its launch. Despite the initial struggles, including a lack of pandemic relief, Powell's commitment to his vision kept the bar afloat through grueling workweeks on COVID wards. The bar has since gained international recognition, being named one of the best bars in the world by influential organizations like the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation.

The intimate setup encourages connections, allowing patrons to share their stories, whether celebrating milestones or seeking solace. Powell emphasizes that the success of The Doctor’s Office is largely due to his skilled staff, who foster an inviting atmosphere. Each team member contributes to creating a space where every guest feels valued and attended to. Today, The Doctor’s Office not only serves drinks but also cultivates community and connection in a challenging world.
