Saltys restaurant property hits the market after pandemic closure

Seattle, WALocal News

The Salty's restaurant property at Redondo Beach, a popular seafood establishment that closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, is now on the market for $7. 9 million. Located at 28201 Redondo Beach Drive S. in Des Moines, the 6,253-square-foot building was constructed in 1928 and renovated in 2005, making it "turnkey ready" for prospective buyers. The property features a takeout window and offers breathtaking views of Puget Sound, Vashon Island, and the Olympic Mountains.

The sale also includes two additional parcels across the street, previously designated for parking, which provide a combined area of 29,390 square feet. Kidder Mathews is overseeing the sale, which has drawn interest primarily from other restaurants, while also presenting a viable investment opportunity. Salty's social media indicates the restaurant closed in March 2020, and while its Alki and Portland locations reopened shortly thereafter, the Redondo Beach site has yet to resume operations. Despite this, the restaurant's website still labels the location as temporarily closed, leaving questions about its future. Salty's has not responded to media inquiries regarding the ongoing closure or potential reopening plans.
