Historic former Seattle KeyBank branch to become event space - Puget Sound Business Journal

Seattle, WALocal News

Landmark Event Co. has announced plans to transform the historic KeyBank branch building in downtown Seattle into a new event space named "Centennial," set to open in 2026. CEO Dru Agarwal emphasized the building's neoclassical design and historical significance, having been built in 1924. The acquisition was completed for nearly $1. 96 million, which is notably less than the current assessed valuation of over $4 million by King County.

Agarwal remarked on the rarity of such commercial sales, stating that many developers overlook properties with unique architectural character. Landmark's impressive portfolio already includes distinctive venues like The Ruins, MV Skansonia, and the recently acquired Pier 70. The company's vision for Centennial aims to preserve the building's character while providing a modern event space. This trend reflects a growing interest in repurposing historic structures in Seattle for contemporary uses. Agarwal's passion for unique buildings is a driving force behind Landmark's successful ventures in the event space industry.
