No Capitol Hill-SoDo light rail service this weekend due to Judkins Park Station testing

Seattle, WALocal News

Sound Transit will temporarily suspend light rail service between Capitol Hill Station and SoDo from 10 p. m. on February 14 through the end of service on February 16, 2025, to conduct essential systems integration testing. This testing is a crucial step in preparing for the upcoming interconnected operations of the 1 Line and 2 Line light rail systems. Although trains will not stop at these stations during the testing period, Sound Transit is arranging for Link Shuttle buses to transport passengers every 10-15 minutes, ensuring minimal disruption to commuters.

This service interruption is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the light rail network. The agency has faced several disruptions recently, including necessary repairs at UW Station that affected service in January. As Sound Transit moves closer to the anticipated full operations of the 2 Line, which will connect Seattle to the Eastside via Judkins Park Station, the agency remains committed to maintaining service quality. The integration tests will involve train movements between the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel and Judkins Park Station. Normal light rail operations are set to resume on February 17, 2025, marking a significant step in the development of Seattle's transit infrastructure.
