A passing of the torch at The Shop Agora as 15th Ave E wine shops manager is new owner

Seattle, WALocal News

The Shop Agora, a cherished Mediterranean food and wine shop in Capitol Hill, has transitioned ownership from founders Nikos Spiliopoulo and Alexis Saloutos to long-time manager Katlynn Roumeliotis. Having been part of the shop since its opening in 2011, Roumeliotis is well-acquainted with its community and aims to uphold its legacy as a neighborhood gathering spot. She plans to enhance the shop's offerings by continuing existing programs while introducing new events and tastings, reinforcing the shop's commitment to community engagement. The previous owners praised Roumeliotis, stating she embodies the values and vision necessary to guide the shop's evolution. Known for its Mediterranean specialty foods and welcoming atmosphere, The Shop Agora has served as a retail sanctuary since 2007.

As customers anticipate the upcoming summer, Roumeliotis reassures them that the essence of The Shop Agora will remain unchanged, with the same packed shelves and Mediterranean vibes. She also hinted at potential future expansions and improvements, although nothing is set in stone yet. The community looks forward to enjoying the shop's offerings, especially on its outdoor patio during sunny days.
