The Broadway Center for Youth is a significant new development in Capitol Hill, designed to address the urgent needs of young adults facing homelessness and unemployment. Located at Broadway and Pine, this hub will provide affordable housing and workforce development services as part of a partnership between YouthCare and Community Roots Housing. The center is envisioned as a resource for young people aged 18 to 24, offering vital services like job training, case management, and mental health support. YouthCare CEO Degale Cooper highlights the advantages of its prime location, adjacent to local colleges, employers, and healthcare facilities. The project is expected to enhance community engagement and support for those in need while also providing a resource for residents seeking better job opportunities.

Construction commenced on January 6, 2025, with completion targeted for Spring 2027. The initiative comes amid heightened efforts to address public safety and homelessness in the area, demonstrating a commitment to holistic solutions. Community members can participate in upcoming events, including a groundbreaking ceremony and an annual luncheon to support YouthCare's mission.
