Early Morning Shooting in Seattles First Hill Neighborhood

A shooting incident at an apartment complex in Seattle's First Hill neighborhood has left a 37-year-old man critically injured, prompting an ongoing investigation by local authorities. The incident occurred at approximately 2:20 a. m. on January 24, 2025, when a dispatcher received a report of gunfire at the 800 block of Spring Street. Upon arrival, officers found the victim in the building's stairwell, suffering from a gunshot wound to the hip area.

The Seattle Fire Department was called to the scene, and the victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he remains in serious condition. The investigation revealed that a passerby found the victim on the 13th floor and immediately reported the incident. Currently, no suspects are in custody, and the Gun Violence Reduction Unit is leading the investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information to reach out to the Seattle Police Department or call 911. This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding gun violence in urban areas and the importance of community vigilance.
