The 60th Presidential Inauguration on January 20, 2025, will feature two Seattle-area musicians, Master Sgt. Harry Ong and Master Gunnery Sgt. Christopher Tiedeman, performing with "The President's Own" United States Marine Band. Ong plays the clarinet, while Tiedeman plays the tuba, both showcasing their talents at a high-profile national event. The Marine Band will perform at the swearing-in ceremony, situated just below the president, and will also participate in the inaugural parade.

Established by an Act of Congress in 1798, the United States Marine Band is recognized as the oldest continuously active professional musical organization in the country. This event marks a significant moment for local artists as they gain national recognition. The band's historical presence at presidential inaugurations adds to the gravity of the occasion, as it was also present during Thomas Jefferson's swearing-in ceremony in 1801. Local musicians performing at such a prestigious event underscores the importance of community representation on a national platform. The event serves to not only celebrate the inauguration but also honor the legacy of the Marine Band and its contributions to American history.
