Capitol Hills Nook Cranny Books has lost its lease You can help it find a new home
Nook & Cranny Books, a beloved bookstore in Capitol Hill, is seeking help after losing its lease and needing to relocate. Owner Maren Comendant has launched a fundraising campaign to cover essential moving costs, including deposits, rent increases, and inventory rebuilding. Established in 2022, Nook & Cranny has become a cherished community space, and Comendant is determined to find a new home that allows for growth. The current 320 square foot space has limited their ability to host events, but a new location could provide more room for seating, displays, and collaborations with local artisans. Comendant expresses optimism about the possibilities a new location could bring, stating, "More room means we can offer seating to visitors who want to hang out and chat during the day!
" The campaign aims to rally community support to help the bookstore during this transition. The hope is to raise sufficient funds to sustain operations while searching for a new location. Nook & Cranny Books continues to operate at 324 15th Ave E, encouraging locals to contribute to their campaign.
