Nana's Southern Kitchen in Kent, WA, celebrated Christmas by providing 1,400 free meals to those in need, reinforcing its tradition of community service. The event, marking the restaurant's fifth annual holiday giveaway, was made possible through the generous contributions of local corporate executives and volunteers. Owner Todd Minor expressed the true meaning of Christmas, stating that the day is about finding ways to bless others. The meals included a main dish paired with two sides, such as fried chicken and collard greens, showcasing the restaurant's southern cuisine roots. In previous years, Nana's provided 1,000 meals in 2021 and 1,700 in 2022, indicating a growing commitment to helping the community.

Notable donors included executives from Microsoft and Cisco, who contributed hundreds of meals to support the initiative. This event not only nourishes those who are food insecure but also fosters a sense of belonging and support within the community, aligning with the welcoming spirit of the restaurant's namesake, Myrtle Henderson.
