Man arrested after stabbing leaves victim hospitalized in Seattle's Mt. Baker neighborhood

On December 23, 2024, a stabbing incident in Seattle's Mt. Baker neighborhood led to the arrest of a 57-year-old man who attacked a 37-year-old victim. Seattle police responded to reports of the stabbing at approximately 2:39 p. m. , finding the victim with a serious but non-life-threatening chest wound.

He was rushed to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Witnesses reported that the suspect entered a store appearing to be in crisis and engaged in a brief, non-confrontational conversation with the victim before the attack occurred. After the stabbing, the suspect attempted to gain entry into a storage facility where employees had secured themselves. Police apprehended him without incident, and he was charged with assault and booked into King County jail. This incident highlights issues of urban violence and underscores the need to address mental health crises in public spaces.
