Mysterious drones reach Western Washington

Seattle, WALocal News

Concerns are rising in the Puget Sound region as residents report numerous drone sightings, reminiscent of a drone scare in New Jersey where federal officials are investigating unauthorized flights over military installations. Reports have come in from areas like Tacoma and Gig Harbor, with some residents claiming to have seen drones the size of cars. A significant video shared on social media shows multiple drones flying in formation at night, heightening public curiosity and concern. KIRO Newsradio has obtained footage from a New Jersey police officer, revealing a larger drone launching smaller drones, indicating organized activity. Experts speculate these drone operations may be linked to private companies conducting unregistered research and development.

The FBI has clarified that many reported drone sightings in New Jersey were actually lawful manned aircraft, aiming to alleviate public fears. Authorities stress the importance of monitoring the situation while avoiding unnecessary panic, as the increasing frequency of these sightings has led to calls for clearer explanations from federal agencies to reassure the public about safety and security.
