FBI offering $25K reward for information on ballot box fires suspect

Seattle, WALocal News

The FBI is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of a suspect involved in a series of ballot box fires in Oregon and Washington. The suspect, described as a white male aged 30 to 40, is believed to have experience in welding and metalworking, which may have facilitated the attacks. These incidents occurred on October 8 and October 28, resulting in significant damage to ballots just prior to Election Day, raising serious concerns about election integrity. Authorities have released images of a dark-colored Volvo S-60 sedan linked to the suspect, who was seen using an improvised incendiary device on the ballot drop boxes. The FBI is appealing to the public for assistance, stating that no detail is too minor to report.

The investigation has uncovered messages such as 'Free Gaza' at the sites, leading to inquiries about the suspect's motives. William Brooks from the FBI emphasized that voters in both states deserve answers and that violent actions should not infringe on their rights. The agency is collaborating with multiple local law enforcement agencies to ensure a thorough investigation.
