More than a million oven gloves are being recalled after consumers report 92 minor burns

Seattle, WALocal News

The U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of over one million pairs of 'Temp-tations Oven Gloves' due to serious safety concerns regarding their heat protection. Reports indicate that QVC has received 162 complaints, with 92 resulting in minor burns. Marketed as providing heat protection, these gloves have been found to fail in this capacity, posing risks to users.

Sold through QVC's website and other platforms from August 2018 to August 2024, the gloves were priced between $4 and $13 per pair. Consumers are advised to stop using the gloves immediately and contact QVC for a refund, ensuring they check for the specific label and model numbers associated with the recall. This incident underscores the critical need for consumer vigilance regarding kitchen safety products and the responsibilities retailers have to ensure product safety.
