U.S. Army Base in Georgia Given ‘All Clear’ After Lockdown Due to Dangerous Event
The U. S. Department of Energy has announced a $365 million initiative to install solar and battery storage systems in Puerto Rico, with $190 million allocated for public housing and $175 million for healthcare and dialysis centers. This funding is a response to the chronic power outages that have affected the island since Hurricane Maria devastated its electric infrastructure in 2017. Years of underinvestment have resulted in a $9 billion debt for Puerto Rico’s Electric Power Authority.
This initiative continues the U. S. government's commitment to renewable energy, aiming to enhance energy reliability and resilience for vulnerable populations in Puerto Rico.
